Weather warnings for Victoria after record setting rain

It's been a rainy start to winter with June already having experienced its wettest day on record. The SES received more than 320 calls for help on Saturday and four people were rescued due to flooding across Melbourne.

The largest amount of rain was in the Epping, Sommerton and Bundoora areas where approximately 100mm of rain has been recorded. Tullamarine also received its wettest winter day ever with 79mm of rain recorded.

All horse racing in the state was forced to be put on hold due to the pour down, severe weather warnings are still in place for residents in the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, Central, West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts.

Melbourne has most likely seen of the worst of the rain, but showers are forecast to continue.
